New Zealand Stag/Tahr

We hunted with Chris Bilkey after winning this hunt at local Central Ohio Chapter of SCI. Acommodations were at the guides house with him and his wife as hosts. We made a family vacation out of this trip over springbreak. We spent one week hunting on the South Island and one week on the coast sight seeing. You cannot take a bad picture in NZ. My son and I took nice stags. My tahr SCI scored #35 in the world. The stag was enjoyable hill hunting and the tahr was true mountain hunting. Used Pre-64 M70 .30-06 FW with Barnes 180 XBT with flawless perfromance. Next maybe hunting in New Caledonia with Chris for Javan Rusa!!!

Alberta Hunting Information

Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
