Reviewer Comments: The accomidations at Pa-Ko Plantation were very good, and the staff was very friendly. The green fields looked like a golf course and were populated with many deer. The shooting houses were very roomy and the stands were comfortably placed in great locations. I killed an eight point buck on my first afternoon hunt. Jay Taylor, the owner, was very attentive to each individual's hunting needs and placed us accordinly at different locations. Each day we enjoyed wonderful home cooked meals. I would deffinately go back again and would also recommend Pa-Ko Plantation to anyone looking for a great hunting experience.

Reviewer Comments: The operation run by J. Paul fits the definition of "southern hospitality" completely. The cabins are new and clean, the food is great, the staff friendly and very capable, every need is provided for. A great social experience. My hunt was with my son and during the rut (1/12-1/15/06). There were 12 hunters in camp. Lots of deer were seen but only 4 were taken by the hunters and none were "trophy" bucks. Two were non-typical "culls" and 2 were small basket mature bucks. There appears to be a good ratio of bucks because, of the 20-24 deer I saw, 50% of them were bucks. Only 2 or 3 real "trophy" bucks were seen by the hunters but no shots were available. J. Paul stated that they are in the middle of an agressive, multi-year feeding program to enhance the sizeable herd, The only shortcoming of the hunt was that on the last morning's hunt, J. Paul, after putting my son and me on our stands, went "scouting". He then shot a beautiful 9 point about 8 AM in the area between my son and me. I believe the owner should only be shooting "culls" and certainly not shooting trophies while his hunters are on stand in the immediate area. I don't know if this is a normal occurance or if he couldn't resist the temptation this one time. Overall, we had a great time and the hunt is worth the money.

Reviewer Comments: THIS WAS MY FIRST OUTFITTED HUNT AND I WILL HAVE TO SAY I WAS IMPRESSED. DEER SIGHTINGS WERE A LITTLE LOW DUE TO A HAIL STORM THE SECOND DAY BUT STILL MANAGED TO SEE A 8 POINT AND 2 DOES HAD TO PASS WAITING ON A LITTLE BIGGER ONE.DAY 3 JPAUL TOOK ME DOWN TO A BOTTOM AND WAS THERE ABOUT 45MIN. AND SAW A SPIKE THEN ABOUT 30 MIN. LATER I THE BIG ONE SHOWED UP AND HE WENT HOME WITH ME. I WILL HAVE TO SAY THEY HAVE DEER AND SOME BIG ONES YOU CAN JUST LOOK AT THE SIGN AROUND THE HUNTING AREA AND YOU WILL KNOW THE POTENTIAL FOR A WALL HANGER IS THERE. THE FOOD IS GREAT AND CABINS ARE VERY NICE AND CLEAN LIKE NEW, THE FOOD WAS THE BEST HOME COOKING YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE.AFTER THE HUNT COME BACK AND RELAX IN THERE FIRST CLASS CLUBHOUSE ENJOY A MIXED DRINK OR BEER AND GET READY FOR THE NEXT DAY. I WOULD DEFINATLY HAVE TO SAY EVERYTHING THEY ADVERTISE IS TRUE AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY.

Reviewer Comments: A great Family outfitter with exceptional animals and accomodations. The lodge is comfortable with table games, drink, snacks, and lots of space. I only hunted for one day due to my schedule but thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to returning for a longer hunt. Alabama does not have licensing requirements for outfitters for guides, but if they decide to get more out-of state business by establishing standards, Pa-Ko should be used as a standard.

Reviewer Comments: We had a very warm week. The deer were not moving much. We saw plenty of sign and the guide worked hard to put us in the right spot. My buddy and I both ended up with a nice buck! This is a top notch facility with great people. The food, accomodations, and overall experience were wonderful. We plan to return and bring other buddies along next year. PA-KO is a beautiful plantation and a quality operation for both quail and deer. Keep up the great work guys!
