Great Place to Hunt

Being from the west (Peoples Republic of California) I've hunted Blacktail and Mule Deer but I've never hunted Whitetail. When I move to the South I started looking for a place to hunt I called several places. When I called Pa-Ko I was sure I'd found the right place and I wasn't wrong. The accommodations were comfortable, the food was excellent, and the staff is knowledgeable very competent and made you feel at home. The property is well maintained and there is plenty of game. I took a big 7 or 8 point (one side was broken) buck with an 18" spread. About 200lb. I can't wait to go back and I highly recommend Pa-Ka Plantation to anyone.

First Class Operation!

If you could dream up and design the perfect place to hunt whitetail, Pa-Ko would exceed any imagination or expectation! Being a veteran gun/bow hunter of 22 years I have been to many places but this one tops the list! J. Paul Taylor and his wife Rita are extremely personable and I was met immediately after entering the plantation by them. Locations to hunt are plentiful and is geared for any type of hunter, novice to experienced and even accomodate the handicapped. Stands and shooting houses are extremely comfortable. J. Paul really wants his hunters to succeed and his knowledge of deer hunting is second to none. He can talk shop with the best of them or educate the novice. He will put you on the deer! Each location I sat was better than the last with deer being seen every time out. The accomodations and food far surpassed my expectations! I came in there just wanting to be in a location where there was an opportunity to harvest a big buck, and I would have slept in a tent to hunt this land! The cabins and food were excellent and I was never hungry. I sat in the stand for 11 hours one day (my choice) and they packed my lunch and took great care of me. Pa-Ko is a can't miss location and I'm not sure how anyone would be disappointed after their stay.

I give Pa-Ko an overall rating of outstanding. The facilities are resort quality as is the food and staff. Owners Jay and Rita Taylor are nice, honest and want their hunters to be cared for at all levels of the hunt. They deliver this throughout your stay. I highly recommend this plantation and will be returning.

My Biggest Buck Ever at PA-KO Plantation

I would first and foremost like to thank Mr. J. Paul, owner of PA-KO Plantation, for putting me on a buck of a lifetime. The 12 point with 4 drop tines that I shot on December 28th, 2010 is my biggest buck to date. I can't say enough about the amenities, food, staff, and hospitality of the owners of PA-KO Plantation. And, oh yeah the hunting isn

PaKo Plantation

Weather was very hot with a full moon. Jay and his guys worked hard for us to see bucks. I saw three shooters, my friend two and the other saw plenty of does and smaller bucks. We harvested two quality bucks. The food was good, the facilities excellent, and atmosphere relaxed. In all, we had a great time, and we plan of going back next year!

Pa-Ko Plantation 2010

This was my third visit to Pa-Ko. J. Paul and his staff go above and beyond to ensure your hunt is successful. I know from personal experience there are large deer on the property. I saw large deer on this hunt but they either stayed out of bow range or I lost light before I had the opportunity to take a shot. Such is bow hunting. They have numerous ladder stands scattered throughout the property so there is easy access to prime hunting locations. The accommodations and food are exceptional. If you are looking for an exceptional place to hunt in the Southeast US, Pa-Ko would be a good place to start.

Reviewer Comments: Harvested my doe quota with ease, and got a hog as well. Jay told me exactly which tree to get in and was spot-on every time. The weather made for tough hunting but we did well despite. DEFINITELY book here whether you're entertaining clients or going for yourself.

Reviewer Comments: My father, fiance and I were all in camp from December 26 - 29 to hunt whitetails. My father and I were hunting with rifles while my fiance was hunting with a bow. We all saw shooter bucks and plenty of does. My finance could not get a good shot at a shooter buck. My father missed a shooter buck along with a couple of coyotes on the second morning, but he did manage to redeem himself by getting a doe with his fourth shot that morning. As for myself, I missed a doe that same second morning. On the final morning of our hunt, I managed to get a nice 8 point. Two does came by my blind at about 8am with a buck chasing them. It took a while to get him to stop long enough to get a shot off and it was a lousy shot at that. I managed to shoot him through the brisket and out the left shoulder. The deer ran and I only managed to find one drop of blood and a couple splinters of bone. J. Paul, guides Will and Lester, and Rebel (the ultimate tracking dog) came out to look for my buck. Rebel was off as soon as he hit the scent trail. J. Paul, Will and I spent the better part of the next two hours trailing after Rebel who never let off the deer. We finally caught up to Rebel, who had cornered the exhausted buck, after a couple miles. We still aren't sure how that deer managed to run that far with its shoulder as busted up as it was. After a long exhausting morning, I finally had my buck thanks to Rebel, J. Paul and Will. Without Rebel's amazing tracking abilities, I'm pretty sure we would never have found that buck as that one drop of blood at the spot I shot was all we saw. As you can tell, I have an amazing story to go with an amazing trip. We all loved our experience at Pa-Ko and cannot wait to go back again!
