Great hunting at a fair price

This is the second time I have hunted with Sweetwater Outfitters and both times I have had a great time and successful hunt. Ray Dennis and his guides are hardworking and honest, they go the extra mile to give you a successful hunt.

Reviewer Comments: I passed several bucks the first day, after killing my antelope before 0800. Ray put me on a trophy mulie that same evening, but I was not up to the 400+ yard shot (he was 200 yards at first, but I could not spot him in time). I had another opportunity that day, but the sun was in my eyes and I could not find the deer in my scope. I killed a beautiful 5x5 mulie the third morning (Not B&C, but beautiful to me for a 1st mulie). He was one of four in the group we stalked. If you are willing to walk, able to crawl, and are willing to choke down a sandwich while glassing for game, I cannot imagine you will not fill your tags.

Reviewer Comments: Very hard working and honest outfitter..As with anything, you get what you pay for. Their average hunts are in average areas with average numbers and quality of game. Trophy hunts are conducted in excellent areas with lots of game. Put me on the biggest deer rack I've ever seen 150 yards away and I missed...my fault not theirs. Bagged two fine buck deer and two nice pronghorn bucks between the two of us two years in a row. We are increasing our group from two to six this year and going back for our third year of fun. If your not overweight and willing to do your part I can't imagine you not filling tags with this outfitter.

Species Hunted: Pronghorn Antelope & Deer

Game Quality: Very Good - Excellent

Accommodation Quality: Motel

Guide Experience: Ray was Guide/Excellent

Other Personal Experience: Good/Nice

Overall Impression: 3rd time out going back in 2004

Reviewer Comments: The last few years drought has been tough on Wyoming and it's game populations and things seem to be turning around for the better. You won't find a harder working outfit. Continued to work hard even after missed shots. If you can walk a little and shoot straight theres no reason you shouldn't fill your tag with this outfit.

Species Hunted: Pronghorn / Mule Deer

Game Quality: Average or below

Accommodation Quality: Motel

Camp Condition: N/A

Food Quality: lousy lunches

Guide Experience: OK

Other Personal Experience: OK

Overall Impression: an ok first hunt

Recommend: Yes with some reservation

Reviewer Comments: Ray is a knowlegable guy but promised a lot of things that weren't true. I told him that I wanted a camp hunt which he said "not a problem." After I drew my tags, he informed me it would be a motel hunt. i was a little disappointed. He also claimed to do year round scouting for game. After hunting with him, I could tell that was not true. He claimed to have hunting leases but the mule deer portion of the hunt was on marginal public land. My guide Dan, did work very hard and I did take a muley and a pronghorn. My hunt took place in 1998 so it's possible things have improved, or not.

Reviewer Comments: Outfitter collected our money the first morning and we didn't see or hear from him the rest of the hunt. Have been on a dozen or more hunts with outfitters in OR,MT,ID,UT,NV in the last few years and would put this one at the bottom of the list.
