Fun, honest, reasonable archery elk hunt
Darren Dunham runs a family oriented hunt. We stayed in his lodge by his house. His wife (great cook) cooked our meals and his family ate with us. The elk are medium size 230 to 320 range. I had action on bulls 4 different times, screwed them up each time, grin. His guides are knowledgeable. We would go to a hunting area in one of his fleet of jeep wagoneers and then hike, bugle, cow call, what fun! I even saw a bull moose at 30 yards one morning. To really enjoy the hunt its impotant to be in shape.

Archery Elk
This was my first Elk hunt. Ty did a great job preparing us for the hunt via phone and mail prior to the trip, he was waiting at the airport to pick us up as promised, accomodations and food were excellent, they had a precise plan for each day and we saw Elk. Almost everyone had an opportunity and three or four of the eight in camp that week took Elk.I unfortunately lost one and was crushed, we exhausted every effort to find him but we were hit by 8 inches of snow during the search and failed. Ty could see my dissapointment and determination and actually praised me for the concern I showed for the Elk (said he does not see that enough out of hunters, sad). Overall I had a great experience and thought Ty and the group were great people. We rotated guides each day and some were better than others. It is big country and you should be physically prepared although they make it as easy as possible with the logging road system and 4 wheel drive vehicles. While others napped during mid day we were able to hunt Mule deer (small bucks and does mostly)and my buddy and I each took a Mule Deer doe. We also caught some small Trout right in camp. There was a solid population of Elk there and saw some beautiful 6x6's that most would be proud of.

Wyoming Hunting Information
Wyoming is a great state for hunters! It offers a wide variety of good big game, turkey, small game, upland and predator hunting.
Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
British Columbia Hunting Information
British Columbia is an excellent hunting destination that offers a wide variety of game species. Vast wilderness areas and pristine coastlines provide world class adventure hunting for those seeking that trip of a lifetime. BC is arguably best known for big coastal black bears, Canada moose, grizzly bear, mountain lion, Dall sheep and Stone sheep. Hunters can book a hunt with an outfitter and avoid the license drawing process common in most U.S. states.
