Bad hunt
I have been on aprox 60 guided hunts and this was one of the most disappointing. My son saved all year to go on this hunt with me and it was nothing but a money-making operation. I saw one small buck the first hour of the hunt and was told I should shoot it. I declined and that was the last buck I saw . They hunt a couple of hours in the morning then watch tv till afternoon and go back out (I hunted all day long but still no deer to be seen.) I was told it was the same last year so if you know that the area and the time of year is beyond bad you should not sell hunts for that season. Approximately 10 hunters 2 little deer were taken. They had a great cook and lodge was good , but I have great food and lodging at home. I saw elk and assume it may be good for that hunt . But don’t do the muzzle loader deer hunt !!!

Recommend: Not for a cow elk hunt
Reviewer Comments: I am bow hunter but had been unsuccessful and wanted a cow hunt ot put meat in the freezer. My only complaint with the experience was that they had a group of 6 hunters all together and no plan for how to account for who shot what. I'll hand it to them on scouting. We all walked to a small bowl where a herd of cows was bedded but then a cluster#*!% ensued with everyone shooting at once and hunters fighting over who shot what. I was so disgusted with the whole thing. I guess thats what I get for thinking this was a "slam dunk" hunt. There was a little calf that got gut shot in the melee and the guide pressured me that I had to take it as my animal. I was so disgusted at that point and sorry for the calf that I put it out of its misery and left as soon as I could with 20 lbs of meat. Maybe a full on rifle trophy hunt would be a totally different story. Gary Thorpe

Reviewer Comments: Ray runs a great camp. We had 10 hunters in camp took 8 elk and the other two had shots but did not connect. I took a nice 6x6 the first day and I saw other good elk. This area has more elk than any place I have been before. Great food, guides. and lodging. We have already booked for 2008.

Overall Impression: Second Worst Outfitted Elk Hunt I've Ever Been On
Recommend: Only for a gun hunt
Reviewer Comments: Saw a cow, calf and spike at 700 yards. Saw a couple of lions also at 23 yards. No elk there for archery season. Would be good gun hunt if the snow drove the elk down from the higher grounds. He has some awesome country leased, but the elk are not there in archery season. Really nice guy too. He tried to tell me I stiffed him for the final balance payment after I got back home. After proving he was wrong by showing him when he deposited a certified cashier's check, I never received an apology or heard another word from him, wouldn't even return my phone calls after that!! Sorry, but can't recommend this outfitter for any archery hunt.

Reviewer Comments: I've utilized Milligan Outfitter twice, both for late cow elk hunt in 2004 and 2005. Our guide was Adam Telemante, a great guide who brought shooting sticks which made the hunt a bit easier. For '04 there were five of us hunting cow elk in Jan. we were successful within the first two hours of the first day. For 05 cow elk hunt in January, I got my elk on the first day at 4:00 p.m. Both experience were very memorable.

Iowa Hunting Information
Iowa is one of the best Midwestern states for monster whitetail bucks. Non-residents must apply for a tag in their annual drawing. Archery tags are the most sought after and depending on what units you apply for generally take 2-4 years to draw.
Alberta Hunting Information
Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
New Mexico Hunting Information
New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.
