had a really good hunt, seen several good bucks and could have shot them. was holding out for a 170" or better. temps were high and the big boys were on lockdown. had a great hunt, you can't control mother nature. the meals and lodge was great. Brandon was a very good guide, curtious and knowledgable. Jarod and family were very nice and hospitable. i will be back and would recommend this hunt. you have to remember it is called hunting and not killing, and this is not a high fence, it is a real hunt. thanks guys

great

It was an experience of a life time.I deffinently would love to go back next year. The food was and the lodging were great. our guide Brandon was a huge part on our trip. He gave us his full attention the whole time while we were there. It was our first guided hunt and it couldnt of been any better. We had a guy in our group that shot a great buck the first hour of our first day. Just a great experience.

The Absolute Worst

Not positive of the actual date, but know it was muzzleloader season in 2007...The hunt could be your dream hunt of a lifetime provided you desire the following outcome: Do you like the idea of having to pay 2850.00 (2007) for a three day “fully guided” trophy deer hunt? This of course does not include the suggested amount of tip the guide and the cook is to receive. This is outlined in info sent out just before the hunt. How about one guide for 6 hunters? Letters received the day before departure to 6 hunters indicated they might need to use their own vehicle due to their guide’s truck transmission was broken? How about hunting a “managed trophy farm” approx. 160 acres almost surrounded by public hunting land? Would you be pleased to hear (from my stand)as many as 10-15 shots during the day within 150 to 300 yards of your stand and then having the opportunity at 7:30 AM and later to hear other unknown hunters talking about the deer they just killed? Do you like being held to a minimum of a 130” score or pay a $1000.00 fine while the surrounding public hunting land had no restrictions. Paying for a fully guided trophy hunt and never seeing but one deer that might have scored 115”. At the same time unsubstantiated reports from the main base camp, indicated those hunters were very successful. Actually seeing a 180” class deer and capturing a great buck kill on video. Later to find out they were hunting in a different county! 1/2 of our deer camp left early and did not finish the hunt...Totally disgusted !When I wrote a letter to Mr. Jackson, he suggested maybe we just didn't sit still or smell and various other reasons we didn't see deer. My son and I sat from early morning to dark in the afternon without getting down even the 1st time for a bathroom break. Never saw Mr. Jackson until 5 mins. before we were leaving for home...I have hunting with many outfitters in the US and Canada and sad to report this outfitter was the absolute worst! Oh yea,I had a phone conversation with Mr. Jackson after I return home and he suggested maybe some type of refund might be in order......I'm still waiting !!!!!!! There is so much more !

Reviewer Comments: Have been on many guided hunts. This hunt by far was the worse. I would not encourage anyone to book with this outtfitter.I ONLY SAW ONE FOUR POINT AND ONE SPIKE! Didn't see anything close to a one-thirty class buck.

Reviewer Comments: Seven of us went to the 3 day shotgun hunt. None of us killed a 130" or better buck. I did not see anything with antlers. In the entire camp there were more illegal bucks killed than legal ones which were few anyway. The nicest bucks were killed by the Mossy Oak team at an area no one else was allowed to hunt. We were promised food plot but got to hunt cow pastures. Jarrod just brushed off any concerns we had.

Reviewer Comments: This was my first guided hunt and it was a memorable one. Archery hunted Nov. 6 - 11. With over 12,000 available acres to hunt, only 11 hunters were in camp. 3 of us hunted on ~3,000 acres for the 1st 3 days and I saw plenty of 140-150 class bucks - just not close enough. Plenty of sightings even though the temps were 70 & 80 degress for 2 of the 5 days. Guides are knowledgable, but not in an arrogant way, and are willing to take suggestions. You won't find any people any more friendly or hospitable. My brother-in-law and I did the fully guided hunt, but will try the semi-guided hunt the next time (and there WILL BE A NEXT TIME). These folks have a great thing going because they treat people the way they want to be treated. The area (and the properties we saw) is just beautiful whitetail habitat. Can't wait till next time.
