My son scored a 300 lb boar! We were hoping for a nice meat hog and got quite a surprise. This was our first hog hunt at Hog Central in Sarasota FL but will not be our last. We have hunted hogs two other times in FL and been on several combo hunts in SC and have never seen as many hogs as we saw at Hog Central. The hunting is in a large tree stand over a feeder. This is not a high fence operation and all animals are truly wild. Going to Hog Central was basically like going over to a friend’s house to go for an afternoon hunt. Brian made us feel right at home, he is a great guy! We saw action almost immediately but nothing came in to the feeder. There were lots of hogs moving around in and out of the field but we wanted to wait until they came into the feeder. I had numerous opportunities if I wanted a 100 yd shot. Finally one hog started working its way into the feeder. This one was joined by at least 6 small hogs. As my son waited to get a clear shot several additional hogs started working their way in. Then we saw a large, lone hog coming into the feeder. After waiting to get the correct angle my son was able to get a shot. We probably saw close to 20 hogs. Of course there was some little ones, at least several nice meat hogs, one nice white hog, 2 or 3 large black sows, my son’s big boar and one other real big boar. I understand they don’t always see the big ones be we sure did. It was a great time and we’ll be headed back soon!! We have already recommended Hog Central to all our friends!
