Be Ready

Late season elk hunt in Shoshone Drainage near Cody WY. Rugged country with a long ride in....10 miles in and 10 miles out first day for us. Much wolf sign and not so many elk. On this one you need to hit the migration right. Extremely beautiful country. Somehow get your ass end in shape for this one! Could be considerable saddle time. Carl isn't real talkative but is serious about finding elk.

hunted oct. 1 2012. paid for 1 on 1 hunt . got 2 on 1. carl sauerwein promised refund of difference.rebooked for 2016. wouldn't pay . had to go to outfitters board. board threatened to revoke his license if he didn't refund $. finally after a year we got our money! under circumstances we canceled 2016 hunt. carl refused to refund our $1000. camp equipment is all 30 yrs old! don't expect him to be in business long. elk hunting is good but carl turned into a real jerk!

Utah Hunting Information

Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.
