Food Quality: Good

Other Personal Experience: Good

Reviewer Comments: Van Hale did not provide the type of AZ elk hunt he told me he was expert in providing and would provide me. He told me to find the bulls he had to pack us in deep on horseback away from the crowded and over hunted road areas. We had many conversations confirming how the hunt and camp would be provided. Instead of a pack-in spike-camp hunt he put us up in a nice lodge and we hunted out of the guide's pick up truck for 5 days, near the roads and along with other hunters. The day we were to pack in, Van told me we would stay at the lodge for one day, two at the most, then we would be packed in to the spike camp. Van then left for Kansas and I never saw him again. He has not returned my calls, emails or letters since December of 2006.
