Excellent hunt

I recently hinted at Snipecreek. I am from Atlanta which is about a 5 1/2 hour drive to Snipe Creek. The service is very good from the owner Carl Doron and his guides and cooks. They have several camps. I think 6. I only hunted one morning hunt and harvested a nice 8 point buck. The camp I was assigned to brought in some very nice deer. Other hunters were seeing deer each hunt and many were seeing numerous bucks. They really try to put you into position for success at this outfitter. Food was good also.

Hunting Factory

Initially in 2012 it was a pretty nice arrangement however now Carl has far too many properties and has literally hundreds of hunters. Most stands are ground blinds within 100 yards of a road or home. Twice during my hunt I had people walking by my stand. The Game Warden also came one evening and lined everyone up in the mess hall to check licenses. Not recommended

Great Hunt and Great People

The hunt at Snipe Creek was a great experience . The guides were very knowledgable and really cared about every hunt you went out on. Even Carl Doron the owner of Snipe Creek personally took me out as well as other hunters . The food was very good and the accomidations were good as well . I saw deer everyday and had a chance at a real nice buck but that's why they call it hunting. I have already booked for next year and can't wait until November 2015 .

Snipe Creek Lodge *****

I had a wonderful experience at Snipe Creek Lodge in Murray, KY this past fall. Everything was first class; the lodging, the food, the guides, and of course the hunting! I felt like I was at home while I was there and made a lot of friends. This was the first ever guided hunt that I was on and I can't imagine any where else even coming close to comparing to Snipe Creek! The "hunt model" that Mr. Carl Doron has in place on his properties is second to none and the quality of the deer is extraordinary. I will be heading back to Snipe Creek again this fall.

Terrific Trip!!

My hunting buddy and I had an amazing 5 day hunt at Snipe Creek!! The accommodations were excellent, the food was terrific and the hunting was awesome!! We both saw a lot of deer. The thing we had to get accustomed to was seeing as many bucks as we did does. The buck:doe ratio has to be only slightly over 1:1!! My buddy and I both had opportunities at huge bucks, but were unable to connect. I did manage to shoot a nice buck the last day of our hunt, but not the monster I had seen earlier in the week. Carl and his guides really worked hard to keep us on deer. Carl personally guided us on a couple of our sits. All the guides we met were great guys and would do anything for you. Stands were in great locations, comfortable and well marked. I guess my best recommendation is that both my buddy and I have already signed up to return to Snipe Creek in November 2015!! Thanks Carl!! Greg and I are looking forward to seeing you again in 10 months!!

2014 Hunt

For years I have enjoyed hunts at Snipe Creek but this one will go down as the most memorable having shared this experience with my two sons. All I heard from my sons over the Thanksgiving holiday , "how great deer camp was and how everyone can't wait until we can do it again next year". We enjoyed the accommodations, the food and camaraderie. We met hunters from Florida, Louisiana, Virginia and more. Even more important are the friendships developed over the years with the guides, Hugh, Matt, Logan, Eddie and Jim. To top off a great hunt, it was in the final minutes on the last day of the hunt my youngest son bagged his first buck! I don't have to tell you how great it made me feel watching him take that shot and seeing his reaction and pride in making a great shot. For us this hunt was filled with many memories that we will cherish forever.

Awesome Huntingn Experience

Although I’ve been hunting all my life, this was my first time hunting with an outfitter. Thankfully, Snipe Creek made my first outfitter experience a great one! During my search for the right outfitter, I was very nervous about selecting the right group. They all claimed great hunting experiences and lodging, which made selecting an outfitter challenging. However, after talking to several guides and looking at various websites, I decided to go with Snipe Creek. During my stay, I realized that I made the right choice. The Snipe Creek staff was great, from the guides to the chefs. The food was great! The chefs, Karly and Stella, cooked every meal from scratch and reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking. The lodging included bunk bed sleeping arrangements, a comfortable living area, updated bathrooms, and flat screen TVs. The hunting and the guides were phenomenal. I can’t say enough good things about the guides, Hugh and Matt, that were assigned to me. These guys had excellent work ethic and definitely knew their stuff. Hugh had actually welcomed a new baby to his family that week, but still showed up early every morning and evening. Hunting each day was from sun up to 11 am and then from 2 pm to dark. Each hunt, the guides took us out to the hunting area, which was always a short drive from camp. They walked us to clearly marked trails that led to stands/blinds that were well-constructed, comfortable, and properly concealed. Each hunt, the guides also provided us with a description of the deer movement and travel patterns. The guides’ instruction and attention to wind direction and scent control, which dictated the stands we used, made for successful hunts. Each hunt, I saw at least 10-15 deer, with half being bucks ranging from spikes to the 100” range. I consistently saw deer at all times of the day; the deer are lightly pressured. I ended up shooting my deer on the 5th day, but never got discouraged the first 4 days since I saw rut activity increasing each day. I saw a lot of little bucks sparring, pushing does, and making scrapes and rubs. I also saw the other hunters continue to bring in big, mature deer each day. I was very happy with the deer I harvested; it was a 9 pointer, probably in the 130” range. Overall, this was a wonderful hunting experience. I did some great hunting, met some cool guys, and just really enjoyed myself. I’d definitely recommend this hunt to anyone interested. I’ve already booked my hunt for the upcoming year. The only recommendation that I would make is regarding the booking/registration piece. I was a little uneasy when making payments each time, because I didn’t consistently receive receipts and when I did, they were handwritten. The informal payment system gave me doubts about the legitimacy of the business. However, upon arrival at the camp, all hesitations were gone. Once I was there, it was clear that Snipe Creek was a professional and credible outfitter. I’d like to thank Carl Doron, Matt Kennedy and Hugh Rollins for a wonderful experience and a life-time memory that I will never forget!

Awesome Hunt

I have been hunting for over 30 years, and have used many outfitters as well as hunting my own property. The experience I had with Carl and his guides is what this type of hunt should be. Without a doubt this is one of the best open range hunts you can do. Everthing they do is set up to get you an opportunity to take a trophy whitetail. On the second evening I arrowed the biggest bow kill of my hunting career to date. All you have to do is listen to these guys and you can see they put alot of time and effort to make your hunt the best it could be. Me and the boys will be back next year. Carl, Eddie will see you and your guys next September. Thanks again for the new addition to my trophy room!

THE BEST

This is the best hunt I have been on! Myself and the all 4 of the guys that went with me on the early season archery/velvet hunt booked our 2014 velvet hunt less than an hour after leaving Snipe Creek! One of our crew even went back for one of the Rut hunts! The moment we arrived in camp I knew these guys were top notch. The lead guide at the south camp (Jason) was eagerly awaiting our arrival, and the smell of something wonderful was pouring out of the smoker at camp! By the look of the cook "Bucky" we weren't going to go hungry and we didn't, we ate like kings with food that your Grandmother would be proud to put on the table! Somehow it seemed that all 5 of us were all destined to shoot a monster..2 outta 5 did and 4 of 5 had monsters in range but all 5 of us saw mature/monster bucks and had an experience of a LIFETIME!

Best time ever

I booked a hunt for my brother and son at Snipe creek last year. We arrived Nov 22nd 2013. Let me tell you we seen at least 15 to 18 deer every single place they put us!!! My son jack killed the biggest deer he has ever killed a big thick 6 pointer with his grand pa 308 at 180 yards!! The blinds were awesome, and we sit in one from dawn to dark. My brother also got a 8 pointer!! The guides and camp folks were awesome! They treated us just like family. We were impressed with this outfitter after being to several other places were they throw everyone in a cattle truck and let you out every 100 yards. we all ready booked fro 2114 rifle season!! Awesome place Carol The Mclerrans

New Mexico Hunting Information

New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.

Arizona Hunting Information

Arizona has lots of trophy big game but is probably best known for its trophy elk and mule deer. This partially due to the limited number of tags available.

Utah Hunting Information

Utah has recently been outstanding for trophy elk, but the best tags take many years to draw. Utah does have conservation tags available for purchase that allow hunters to bypass the drawing. Given the high demand for these premium tags prices can be high. In the past Utah has been a top trophy mule deer state but recently only a handful of units consistently produce B&C caliber deer.
