Reviewer Comments: I hunted the week of 5/18 until 5/22. Camp includes canvas wall tents with cots and a wood stove. All kept me and my group very comfortable for the week. Wendy provided unbelievable meals for the week and left us all full at the end of each one. Out of 5 days hunting, I saw 8 different bears and killed 2, one of which was a nice cinnamon. Each hunter leaves camp around 4 pm and heads to the stands with their guide. The guides are all very knowledgeable and work their butts off. They bait every day and make certain you are on an active site. Everyone in my group filled all of their tags with no problem. You will not be disappointed if you hunt with the Silver Fox team.

Reviewer Comments: Eric runs a first class operation and tries very hard to cater to the needs of the hunter. The guides are knowledgable and work hard to ensure a successful hunt. I think you will have a great experience if you choose to hunt with Silver Fox Outfitters.

Reviewer Comments: This outfitters main camp is located approximately 20 miles east of High Level, Alerta. He also runs a spike camp on the Chinauga River about 2 hours distance. Hunters are placed in canvas wall tents with wood floors and a wood stove. These were well used but kept us warm and dry. Cots were provided which were in very good shape and suprisingly comfortable. Elly, the camp cook, provided home cooked meals which were very good and one could eat as much as you wished. She also had the tent lights on and the wood stoves burning when the hunters arrived back at camp from the evening hunt. The guides were all very experienced, personable and know their bears very well. The hunt would begin at approximately 4:00 in the afternoon when hunters would be transported to their stands, normally by use of ATV's, which could be a very adventerous ride. We were normally in our stands by 5:30. The stands, which are commercially built and provide a 28" x 26" platform and padded seats, were placed 12 to 15 feet in the tree and 12-15 yards from the bait. We would hunt until approximately 11:30 when the guide would come and pick you up and we would be back in camp around 1am. Overall, I hunted 6 days and saw 7 bears and one wolf. I harvested two bears and the wolf with the first bear being a 6'6" sow on the second night and a 150 pound boar on the sixth night. The guides were all impressed with the size of the wolf which they said was a female which weighed aproximately 80 pounds. I saw bears three of the six nights I hunted including two very large boars which were obviouosly looking for sows but were extremely hesitant to come into the baits. Neither presented me with a shot. Of the five hunters in camp ten bears and the wolf were harvested including two hunters tagging out in two days. One hunter saw bears at his bait every day and reported 30+ sightings for the week. Most of the bears were of average size with one cinnamon colored bear being killed. The spike camp reported one hunter shooting a 400 lb bear with a 20" skull. Silver Fox is a very professional outfit and will definitely put you on the bears. Everyone was hardworking and sincerely interested in your success. I will not hesitate to return.

Reviewer Comments: My guide (Sheldon Fiske) was very good, provided his own ATV's and Tree Stands. They were of good quality and well maintained. Other guides seemed very knowledgable but used camp equipment. Camp supplied Tree Stands were reported very uncomfortable and possibly dangerous (Homebuilts). Camp supplied ATV's were in marginal condition, brakes and lights inop etc. Five hunters took nine bears (three archery hunters / five bears plus one wounded and two rifle hunters / four bears.) I would hunt with Sheldon again and with the other guides if equipment was improved. These guys know their bears but need to work on equipment selection and maintanence.
