Reviewer Comments: I looked for a hunt that I could make possible for my physically challenged father and my 12 y/o son and myself. This was a perfect choice! Safari followed through with every aspect of this 3-generation adventure, including suppling generator power for my fathers breathing equiptment. The guide staff truley treated us like we were the boss. They worked hard and and as long as we wanted and were very forthcomming with any questions we had. And lastly Safari Nordik has this operation down to the tee, from accomadations before and after, to the flights and the butchering. I couldn't ask for more!

Reviewer Comments: Hunt dates: Sept. 18-24, 2005 Safari Nordik performed above and beyond our expectations. Planning a caribou hunt such as this takes quite a lot of effort on the part of the customer and the outfitter and can be stressful to say the least. Safari Nordik personnel did everything in their power to ensure we had a safe and worry free experience. Our camp was comfortable and the food was excellent and plentiful. Everything promised to us was delivered and more. We had each harvested one bull early in the week, but only a few caribou came by our camp each day. Even though we had already harvested our guaranteed bulls, Safari Nordik moved us to another camp at the end of the week where there were thousands of animals. Aside from harvesting our second bull each, we were able to experience the phenomenon of the migration which was truly amazing. We greatly appreciated the effort put forth and after returning from the hunt are in awe of the outfitter’s ability to organize chaos with so many hunters coming and going each day, to keep track of where the animals are, and to ensure everyone was happy. This is a hunt we would repeat with this outfitter and commend all of the staff for their hard work both in front of and behind the scenes. Thank you Safari Nordik! Reviewer Comments: I hunted from 8-29-04 to 9-04-04. The weather was warm in the beginning of the week which kept the caribou sightings down. I tagged out on two nice bulls, ending my hunt on the afternoon of the second full day. Everyone in camp took two bulls. The staff at my camp, named Tasiataq, was excellent. The food was very good and the cook was disappointed if you didn't take seconds or if you skipped dessert because you were too full. This outfitter is very organized and if they told us they were going to do something it was done, no B.S. Another group which started the same day I did went into a camp that didn't have any caribou around it. They were moved after two days to a different camp that had hundreds of animals around it. They all got there two caribou and they all seemed pleased when we got back to Montreal. We all got bulls, not cows. This is an excellent outfitter and I will be going back in a few years.

Reviewer Comments: I hunted with Safari Nordik during the last part of August & the first part of Septmeber 2001. There were plenty of caribou and all 11 hunters in camp killed two very good bulls. Most were done by the second morning of the hunt. My partner and I held out until the fourth day to kill our 2nd bulls and ended up with 2 really good bulls each. We passed up too many bulls to count. I will say that our guide hunted with us very little. We either went out on foot or took the boat ourselves and hunted on our own. That was fine with us but some hunters may be less than satisfied with that treatment. Granted, it's not exactly what we paid for but, we got our bulls on our own and had a great time doing it.

Reviewer Comments: Gurantee on flyer was to move hunters if no game was sighted. Owner was advised by head guide that there was no caribou, and although owner flew over the camp in his own plane, refused to answer the radio, land, or move hunters.

Reviewer Comments: Our group of 8 had a very successful hunt. Everthing we were told about our hunt was very satisfactory. The booking agent Ken Gingrich from Pa. was really knowledgeable and helpful in setting up the hunt. I have also hunted the Scheffersville area seven times. The lst time there we had not seen any caribou. The other yearswe were delayed on our hunts because of bad weather. I would recommend the Kuujjuaq area highly over the Scheffersville region.

Reviewer Comments: My 1999 experience was very similar to Carey Brickell's. I was in a group of five that was rushed to camp so we could hunt the first afternoon, as we were supposed to. When we got to camp, all of the guides were guiding other hunters who were allowed to stay an extra day (which I didn't mind) or hunting for themselves (which I did mind). Our group got two caribou the next day and several more opportunities for the bowhunters. Then the caribou were gone. We hunted two more days with no opportunities. I feel we were lucky to be in a group, because we were able to pressure them to move us to a hot camp. Four of our group plus nine other hunters moved into the camp with 1.5 days left to hunt. All 13 tagged two good bulls each in less than 24 hours. The guides were very busy packing, which meant we were self-guided after the first couple of caribou. At no time did we have less than 5 hunters per guide, although we paid for 3 to 1. I didn't mind helping the guides pack and load the meat and horns. I DID mind when my horns and half of my meat did not get to the motel in Montreal. After much talk and letters, Safari Nordik sent me meat to replace what they lost. I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN MY HORNS, ONE OF WHICH WAS VERY GOOD, NOR ANY COMPENSATION FROM THEM FOR LOSING THEM!!! I BOOKED THE HUNT THROUGH BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING IN FLAGSTAFF, AZ, AND HAVE GOTTEN VERY LITTLE HELP FROM THEM RECOVERING MY ANTLERS! LET THE BUYER BEWARE! If anyone is considering legal action against these guys, I would like to hear from you.

Reviewer Comments: I have read some derogatory articles on Safari Nordik in the past few years and I can understand that some years are not quite as good as other years but as a whole this is considered hunting not killing. I personally have hunted with Safari Nordik five times. And yes, there have been some lean years, where moving you to another camp was not an option because there were NO animals anywhere! Not even at the other camps. These outfitters do their best to accomodate everyone. As for the guides, Fabian, was our personal guide and he was as knowledgable as they come. His personality as well as the other guides that work for Safari Nordik was super. Our Chef, Jaques Sevigny made superb Meals. His job was to make sure we went home weighing more than we when we came to camp. Overall, our hunt was fantastic, taking a few large bulls, some small bulls and yes a couple of cows. As a bonus the fishing was fantastic, Lake Trout, Speckled Trout and a few Char. If you have any questions on this hunt or Safari Nordik you may contact me at 215-538-2816.

I personally have hunted with Safari Nordik five times. And yes, there have been lean years, where moving you to another camp was not an option because there were just NO animals anywhere! Not even at the other camps. These Outfitters do their best to accomodate everyone. This past year I had the pleasure of hunting with my Brother, Father and 15 great friends at Safari Nordik's May Camp. The guides were great. Fabian was our personal guide and quite expierenced. Although we had to hike about seven - ten miles out of camp we did find caribou. All hunters (except two) filled their two tags. Most of the caribou were bulls but we did take some cows. Thats Hunting!! I will say the accomodations were superb...dry and warm. The food was excellent, of course our chef Jacques Sevigny made sure everyone had enough. Every effort was made to make everyone happy, not just our camp but the other camps as well. And you know, almost everyone of our group tries to return to Safari Nordik every three years. If you have any questions regarding Safari Nordik do not hesitate to call or contact me. PS - The fishing is great also.

Reviewer Comments: Our group of thirteen took 26 nice bulls, but there were some serious problems with the management of this operation. This is difinitely a hurry up and shoot operation. We were told to shoot the first bulls we encountered and given a timeline of two days to do it and were threatened to be moved if we didn't shoot. The outfitter lost three hunters bags going into the camp and couldn't find them for three days. He had only two camps that were active with caribou and was pushing people through at a cyclic rate. At one time there were 24 hunters in a camp set up for 12. There was no increase in guides or staff to accomodate the extra hunters. This turned into a pretty much self-guided situation once all those hunters started getting caribou. The guides were very unhappy and vocal on their displeasure with the management. We were charged $130 for processing two caribou and upon arrival in Montreal the meat and antlers were not there. The majority of our group is at this time trying to get the outfitter to ship our meat and horns to us. All this being said, we lucked out and got into an active camp and saw and took some really nice animals but it was a fight the entire trip. If your just a shooter and not a hunter then you probably could weather this outfitter, hunters you'll be really disappointed.
