Rio turkey hunt
An outstanding hunt. Tanner did a great job setting up and calling in birds. No wasted time and lots of birds seen. Accommodations and Tara's food prep was terrific. Very friendly and hospitable people.

There was six of us that booked a hog hunting trip with this outfitter in February. The lodge was great food was amazing but as a outfitter this guy needs to learn what he needs to do. Didn't have any idea where the hogs were bedding or feeding. Told us he had all of these trail cams but I don't think he uses them for hogs. Put us on feeders that didn't have any tracks but cattle. Six guys in three days and no one saw a hog!! I'll never go back!! The last day we were to hunt till noon but we left felt it would be a waste of time. If this guy wants to advertise hog hunting then he should put more effort into it!!
Outfitter Response: For the record yes I do use my cameras for hogs, yes there had been hogs hitting every feeder we hunted, no we didn't have any luck. That is what you get with FREE RANGE hog hunting. They are nocturnal animals , sometimes it's a piece of cake, other times you can't find one. We have had far more successful hog hunts than unsuccessful.

Rio Rojo deer hunt
Had a very good hunt with Tanner. Shot a very nice 23in wide 8pt, & my freind shot a real high mature 9pt. We both also shot doe. Saw lots of deer, & also saw other shooter bucks. accomidations were great,nice lodge, & 4 bunk cabins. Tanner & his wife Tara, brother Tyler, & father Rick are all great people & provided a great hunt!Food was great to.I have hunted lots around noth america & highly recomend Rio rojo outfitters!

Reviewer Comments: Tanner runs a first class operation. I would recommend this outfitter for turkey and whitetail deer hunting. I hunted with Rio Rojo Outfitters in 2006 and 2007. I harvested trophy bucks on both trips. I have also hunted with outfitters in Missouri and Illinois. Rio Rojo Outfitters is the only one I would return to.

Reviewer Comments: So far I've been fortunate enough to hunt in a lot of places, in the US and beyond. I rank Rio Rojo Outfitters right there at the top with the best of them. Tom Kelly has written that turkey hunting is a thinking game. I wish Mr. Kelly could take a hunt at Rio Rojo because he'd instantly recognize there's a lot of thought that has gone into the overall place, including the hunts. It would be difficult for me to over-state the quality of the entire experience. They manage the hunts and habitat with an eye on quality and long term and I suspect the success ratio for hunters is very high. The owners are generous, gracious, interesting and a pleasure to be around. They're the type of folks you'd want as friends. This isn't a side venture for them - they live on the property and it's a full time commitment. Basically, their vocation is the fulfillment of a dream they've long held, so one could say they're living their dream - and it shows.

Always new what to do when game changed their habbits, I have hunted Turkeys in 5 states this hunt had me complete my quest for the grand slam. Very satisfied with everything . I have also hunted many big game species if I was to go on a white hunt for a big buck this would be on the top of my list of places to go.

Kansas Hunting Information
Kansas is one of the top producing monster whitetail buck states in the country. It also has some excellent turkey hunting and a few big mule deer in the western part of the state. Kansas has an excellent reputation as a top notch destination for upland birds. It has excellent populations of pheasant and quail due to the vast expanse of suitable prairie and grassland type habitat.
Iowa Hunting Information
Iowa is one of the best Midwestern states for monster whitetail bucks. Non-residents must apply for a tag in their annual drawing. Archery tags are the most sought after and depending on what units you apply for generally take 2-4 years to draw.
Ontario Hunting Information
Ontario is often considered a sportsman's paradise. This large province contains huge sections of wilderness, filled with thousands of lakes that provide excellent habitat for Canada moose and black bear. Excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, muskie, smallmouth bass and other species can often be combined with a hunt.
