great color phase hunt!

Well we just returned from our hunt at pin acres camp! And man did we have a great time! When I booked this hunt with chris I told him I wanted a color phase bear or a P&Y class black bear or I probably would go home with out one. Because after all the main goal was for my wife to get her first bear. So with that said now I can tell you chris gave me all of the above and more! My wife got her first bear on the same night as I shot mine hers was a black bear that she could not have been happier with! And mine was a huge choclate that weighs well over 300lbs! And should push P&Y! Not to mention the monster black bear that I blew my shot at two days befor all of this. He was a B&C forsure! And that was just the hunting! I left pine acres feeling like I had made some new friends and had a wonderful time! 13 in camp and everyone had fun and seen bears! what more could you ask for?

Black Bear Heaven!!!

This is the third year in a row coming up to Chris and Lottie's wonderful hunting camp in Vermilion Bay. And like fine wine "Pine Acres" just keeps getting better w/ age. I saw eight bears the 1st day on stand four of them being shooters. The bear I took was a really nice bruin w/ a big white chevron on its chest. Chris Lavoie is the "real deal" he has over 30 years of experience in the north bush. He has forgotten more about black bears than most guides will ever know. If you do your part and just listen to what he says he will put you on bears. I would highly recommend the American Plan when you come up. The cabins are clean & comfortable and Lottie makes some of the best dinners I have ever had in any hunting camp all @ a very resonable price. I look forward to heading back up next year

great black bear hunt for a great price

I have hunted bear in Wisconsin, New Brunswick and now Ontario with success at each location. Pine Acres runs a great semi guided operation. What I really like about this camp is that they specialize in hunting. This is not a fishing operation that runs hunts to augment their income. Chris has been in the business for years and it shows. He knows bears and their habits as well as anyone I know. He is in the bush daily so he knows what the bears are doing and when. During my hunt this year everyone in camp saw bears and either shot a bear or had opportunities to do so and chose not to. Plus his area is so unpressured we were seeing shooter bears by mid day. One of the hunters in our group saw 15 bears on his stand in 4 days. I shot a real nice bear with a great coat at 3:40 in the afternoon on the first day. Pine Acres is the best bargain for the dollar on the bear hunts I have been on. I can strongly recommend the American Plan as Chris's wife Lottie is a wonderful cook. You can pay more for a hunt and you can buy a cut rate hunt...however you will not find a better buy for the dollar. You will see bears!

Got my Bear

Pine Acres Hunting Camp met all expectations. I was put on a hot bait and GOT MY BEAR ON THE FIRST DAY! The camp facilities are very good. Clean cabins with showers or tubs. Oh, did I say cable tv too? Chris really works his butt off for you. Lottie, cooks more than you can eat. If you go away hungry, it's your own fault. I AM GOING BACK next year.

Pine Acres Camp Deer Hunt 2010

Had a great hunt at Pine Acres Camps Ontario in November 2010. Chris Lavoie does an excellent job prescouting and is in the bush constantly scouting the animals in the area and ensuring his clients are in the best stands. When you get out of the woods, Lottie Lavoie always has an excellent hot dinner ready to eat. The food was awesome and I guarantee you will not go hungry. In addition to the excellent hunting and food. The cabins are very nice. They have nice bathrooms with a shower, a kitchen with a stove & refridgerator, and a couch with a tv to check the news and weather. The hunting was excellent. I saw numerous buck that were bigger than any deer I have ever shot, but I had seen some of the deer that were killed here and I was waiting for one of those monsters. There are alot of big deer in this area. during the hunt I saw over 11 different bucks! Another person who made the hunt great was one of Chris' guides named Saxon. Saxon was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and always on the go ensuring that you were ready for your hunt. If you need something, Saxon will do his best to make sure you get it. He assisted us on our hunt several times. I look forward to working and hunting with Saxon in 2011. I booked a hunt for 2011 before leaving camp last year. I will be returning to Pine Acres Camp for many years to come.

Pine Acres Hunting Camp

Have hunted with Pine Acres twice now and both experiences were way more than I expected. Deer sightings high..stand locations excellent. Well maintained cabins, with everything you need. Knowledgeable and extremely helpful personnel. No hassles, no problems. The Lavoie's and their crew have a top notch operation. Hunt number 3 coming up in Nov 2011!!

Reviewer Comments: Been here 3 times. Always saw bears. Two archery kills. Booked for 2010 to take my 16 year old granddaughter for her first bear hunt. Wouldn't book if I didn't think she would have a great hunt.

Reviewer Comments: Was impressed with the cabins as they were very clean and modern. Cris does a very good job in setting up the bait sites, as everyone in camp got a bear. Cris does a good job of tracking the downed bears. Overall it was a good experience and I would do it again.

Reviewer Comments: I hunted with Chris in 2008. I harvested a black bear on the third day of my hunt. I will return to this same camp in 2010 and this time my brother in law will hunt with me. I learned a tremendous amount of black bear knowledge and I am looking forward to learning more in my next trip. Chris has a volume of information in his brain about bears and bear hunting. Chris has 67 active bait sites and will place you on the one that he thinks you have the best shot of getting a black bear. He checks bait sites on a daily basis. He has a vast area under lease and also owned by him and his wife so there is no shortage of land to hunt on. I have heard that the camp has been remodeled so the cabins will be better than they were before. I know the food will be wonderful. Not often one gains weight on a hunting trip. I hope to use all that I learned on my first trip to harvest a bigger bear on my second trip. It is only January, but I am already getting excited about my September trip to Pine Acres. It is a great bear hunt for the price. He does everything he can to keep the price affordable for the average working man to enjoy bear hunting.

Reviewer Comments: Four guys from Wisconsin wanted a no nonsense bear hunt, with WELL baited stands and plenty of bear. We wanted remote cabin and remote sites, with no babysitting. We cook for ourselves and retrieve our own bears. Pine Acres provided just what we looked for in a fine bear hunt. We expect to go back and hunt with Chris and Lottie again in 2010.
