Poor Service and Ethics

Let me begin this review by saying that it is NOT based upon one experience on a first hunt. I hunted with this outfitter many times before our relationship ended. First bad experience: I put up a $400 deposit for our group of 4, but one guy had an emergency and couldn't go. Since I was a repeat customer and 3 of us were still coming I halfway expected to get the $100 back. Owner's wife (who is definitely NOT a "people person." refused a refund. She's halfway looney tunes anyway, very particular and grating on the nerves. My buddy brings a little chihuahua with him when he travels, and this dog has been in my house many times. Never soils the carpet. Karen accused Buddy of dumping on the carpet when she had a less than 1 yr. old, poorly behaved yellow lab in the house. My buddy looked at the size of the deposit and just laughed. No way a chihuahua could have done that. Second bad experience, we did a fall turkey/pheasant combo hunt. I killed two birds with one shot, both were cleaned by guide. Went to leave and my 2 birds weren't there. Found out that guide had taken them to his house for storage and left them there. I had to pick up my bird (yes singular, as one was lost) the next time I visited my daughter out there. Suspicious experience: We were told that we were shooting wild pheasant, yet 80-90% of the birds we killed were roosters, even late in the season. Roosters get more scarce as the season goes on -- made us suspicious that these were not wild birds. Final experience: Was hunting alone on a property and killed 3 birds in the morning. Went in for lunch, and a guide put me on another property for that afternoon. He did NOT tell me not to return to the first property. I found no birds on the 2nd property, so returned to the first one. Had hunted 5 minutes when the guide showed up with a couple of trucks of hunters, called me on my phone, and proceeded to curse me out for being there as he had planted birds there for a CSA hunt. (BTW, owner is without a doubt the most foul-mouthed person I've ever known,) No problem --but TELL me I wasn't supposed to return to that property. I walked back to my vehicle and the guide approached me again using profanity and asking me what I was going to do then? I replied, "I guess I'm done" as I didn't know where else to go hunt. Called the owner the next day about the situation, spoke with his wife and got the "we don't care" attitude. I asked her to have Mikey call me so we could discuss it -- still waiting for the call. Found out from my son-in-law that Mikey's policy is if you complain about anything you are done with them. I now hunt with another service out of Stockton, more expensive, but great people. I had left a deposit for another hunt which was returned with the note "this it twice (I had complained about the missing turkey and the last h) so maybe you'd be happier hunting with someone else." One last point: if you hunt with them multiple days be prepared to shoot most of your birds on Day 1, and far fewer after that. Wonder why we always found fewer birds on last days. I have a theory. . . . . .

Excellent

I have hunted with Mikey on two occasions. First in 2012 for opening weekend of Dove season. Saw lots of birds - shot a lot of birds. Great service. Came back in 2013 for a pheasant hunt. Since it was early this was a release hunt but the service and hunt areas were excellent. I have booked a whitetail doe hunt for Jan 2015 with Mikey after my friends had success last January. Need to fill the freezer and Mikey offers good service and great value. Highly recommended!!

Yukon Territory Hunting Information

The Yukon Territory is a legendary hunting destination. Hunters from all over the world travel to the Yukon for wilderness adventure hunting at its finest. This rugged, remote and beautiful province is nearly untouched by man. It is similar in size to the state of California but with a population of only about 30,000 residents. The Yukon is a vast, pristine wilderness that holds a tremendous variety of trophy game species. You should be in excellent physical condition to maximize your success and to enjoy the Yukon experience.

Arizona has lots of trophy big game but is probably best known for its trophy elk and mule deer. This partially due to the limited number of tags available.
