Manitoba Moose Hunt

The moose hunt was fantastic and exceeded my expectations. Lea Meadow provided us with high quality moose hunting terrain and outstanding guides and hospitality. Truly was a Canadian Wilderness hunt of a lifetime for my father and I and a trip neither of us will ever forget. Lyle and Linda were outstanding hosts and really went out of their way to ensure our expectations were met. Would highly recommend anyone looking for a remote Canadian moose hunt adventure to consider Lea Meadow Outfitters based on my experiences. This was my second time around with Lea Meadow and both trips turned out great!

Great Moose hunt, 2 taken - 49"'s

I've done alot of hunting in my day, and this outfit knows what it's doing. Great guides, fantastic area, my hunting partner and I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable hunt. The accomidations were what we expected, and we were prepared. Mostly because before the hunt, Lyle and Linda supplied us with all of the information nessary for us to "be prepared". I shot my Moose on the 3rd day of the hunt. We had flown in a canoe strapped to the bottom of the float plane. ( That was interesting )And we used it on the upper part of the river. Our guide spotted the Moose about 400 yards in on a penninsula, we did a stalk into about 100 yds, and my trusty 30-06 did the rest. My hunting partner shot his Moose on the 6th day of the hunt after taking a black bear the day before. His Moose we spotted about a 1/2 mile away on the river, we floated the 14' boat down to it, and the guide called it up to the river edge, thats as far as it made it. Right after he shot his Moose, we startled another bear in the brush, I didn't even have my gun, so Nate handed me his 338, and I made a miracle shot and took the bear. His moose, and my bear were 100 yds apart, the guide was happy about that. The only thing we weren't ready for was how heavy a moose really is !!! Nate and I carried the hind quarter's together, one at a time, and it hurt us! Lyle was personally there, to see us set up, and make sure things were right. Linda met us at the airport, and took care of all the paperwork, good team. Book a hunt, you'll be glad you did, we were. Good luck, take a breath before you shoot, Eric

Honest and hard working

My hunt was excellent, from the planning that Lyle goes through with you, to the flight out to the hunting grounds from Thompson, Manitoba to the guides. My partner killed his Moose on the second day of our hunt and it was a real testimony to the nice animals in Lea Meadows' area. The two guides as well as my partner and myself all pitched in to dress out the bull which is quite the undertaking and the guides do appreciate any help the hunters care to give, in my case that was all part of the adventure. Bob my guide and I hunted hard for a Moose we had seen on our first day of hunting; but he was with a cow and was not subject to be called in. We put a stalk on but was busted by the cow. We hunted that area for 3 more days and finally on the 4th morning we went in and found the bull and the cow. The wind was perfect and we put a stalk on them from 500 yards and closed the distance to 150 where I was able to put him down with my 300mag. Very exciting and overwhelming. The food is what a person can expect in the wilderness plenty of it and stick to your bones good. Would I recommend this outfitter? I'm going again this year, that should say it all.
