outfitter review submitted by: Sanders Wyatt on Feb 26 2010

Species Hunted: Whitetail

Game Quality: 2 decent bucks in a week

Accommodation Quality: Fair

Camp Condition: I stayed in their home

Food Quality: Fine

Guide Experience: Excellent

Other Personal Experience: Excellent

Overall Impression: Beautiful, but sad.

Recommend: Not in his current whitetail u

Reviewer Comments: This was not a good hunt. Too much timberland and I have spoke with several outfitters throughout Alberta that say that this is not a great destination for whitetail. I went one whole day only seeing a spike buck. Pipelines and logging roads.

Species Hunted: Elk , Deer , Bear

Game Quality: Poor

Accommodation Quality: Good

Camp Condition: Good

Food Quality: Excellent

Guide Experience: Good

Other Personal Experience: Good

Overall Impression: Not impressed

Recommend: Not Sure

Reviewer Comments: Had a great time and saw alot of beautiful country but the game was very scarce. This will be the last public land hunt I ever go on. I was lead to believe there was more game in the area than there was. I let one small mulie buck walk and did see some black bear but I was there to elk hunt and I did not see a bull!

New Mexico Hunting Information

New Mexico is one of the top destinations for trophy Elk and Antelope hunting. Draw odds can be tough depending on the unit but landowner tags are also available for those who don't draw. Mule Deer are plentiful but generally of average size. Only a couple of units and reservations consistently produce big muleys.
