I have been bear hunting well over 40 years and Grey Owl Outfitters is in the top 10 all time for me. I have been there twice and was successful both times with trophy quality bears, and on top of that the fishing is world class. Pack your bags and head to Greay Owl. I hunted with Grey Owl Outfitters in 2005 & 2006. In 2005 I sat on sat for 3 days of a 7 day hunt before killing a P&Y bear. This bear was officially scored in 2009 & netted 19 3/16 inches. In 2006, I hunted for another 3 days, again on a 7 day hunt, before killing a color phase bear. While this bear was considerably smaller than the previous years bear, I knew that it was going to be hard to top a P&Y bear and had my heart set on a color phase and that was exactly what I got. The fishing available on this hunt is as close to "world class" as this Oklahoma kid has ever seen. It is quite possible to catch fish till you are sore and our parties where able to land Northern Pike that qualified for the Canadian Master Angler Award program each year. Boats, motors, fuel and life jackets where provided and the fishing alone was worth the trip. Accomodations where very comfortable with phone, satellite TV, running water and electricity. Food was outstanding and if you went hungry, it was your own fault. I would recommend this hunt with these folks in a minute.

Alberta Hunting Information

Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
