Save Your Money

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FIND A REPUTABLE GUIDE. YOU WILL NOT BE STAYING AT A BED AND BREAKFAST YOU WILL BE SLEEPING IN AN OLD AMISH SCHOOL HOUSE. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE 3 HOT MEALS A DAY BUT I HOPE YOU LIKE BALONEY SANDWICHES. THE FARMLAND HUNT AREA IS HUNTED OUT BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS. THERE ARE PLENTY OF DOE AND YOU CAN GET A DOE TAG FROM DICKS. YOU CAN GO TO FARMS THAT LET YOU HUNT FOR FREE IN THE AREA... JUST ASK.

Hunt was late in the season. although weather was extremly cold, game in this hunting area appeared pretty well used up and over hunted. Plenty of animals seen on other properties traveling to and from hunting area, but very few deer on hunted properties. none of a party of 4 group even saw a shootable deer. Guide didn't seem to concerned about our parties lack of game seen. food and lodging were good.

Species Hunted: Black Bear/Whitetail deer

Game Quality: Good/Excellent

Accommodation Quality: Fair

Camp Condition: Good

Food Quality: Fair

Guide Experience: Excellent

Other Personal Experience: Excellent

Overall Impression: Very good

Recommend: Yes

Reviewer Comments: This was a remote hunt in the Adirondacks, mountainous and beautiful. The accommodations are cabin tents with wood stoves; situated on the shores of a nice lake. The hunters were dropped off at per-designated locations via a motor boat. All hunters are given maps and good instructions on were to hunt in their assigned location, if you desire you may hunt different locations. Food was adequate, nothing to write home about. Been on 2 trips, see game both times; took bear 1st time out. Note this is a vast area to hunt, success in taking game is the exception rather than the rule; but there are some real trophy there due to its remoteness. You can also fish and hunt grouse.

Alberta Hunting Information

Alberta is a large, diverse province with rolling prairies, farmland, river bottoms, Boreal forests, and large expanses of the northern Rocky Mountains. Many species of big game, waterfowl, upland game and predators inhabit Alberta. Long known for monster whitetails, Alberta also is home to big mule deer, pronghorn antelope, elk, black bear, cougar, Canada moose, and bighorn sheep. In fact, 7 of the 10 largest bighorn sheep in Boone and Crockett record book are from Alberta. In addition to big game, Alberta offers some top notch bird hunting. Serious waterfowlers know about the large flocks of ducks and geese that call Alberta home or migrate through.
